Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that promote excellent student outcomes.
- Set and mark work in accordance with the school’s assessment policy, recording student progress effectively.
- Develop strong rapport with students to support their learning and personal development.
- Collaborate with the department to share resources and maintain a consistently high-quality curriculum.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and students to support student achievement and attendance.
- Attend and contribute to departmental, staff, and other relevant meetings.
- Support the college’s mission and values in all aspects of teaching and learning.
- Teach across departments where required, contributing to a flexible and supportive teaching environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree and teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage learning effectively with a student-centred approach.
- Understanding of current developments in criminology.
- High level of organisational and administrative skills.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding.
- Alignment with the Catholic ethos of the school.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Criminology or a related subject.
- Experience with the WJEC Level 3 Applied Diploma in Criminology.
- Experience in delivering lessons to large groups of students.
- Experience in pastoral support or tutor roles.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
