Key Responsibilities:
- Teach the WJEC Level 3 Criminology course to a range of students.
- Deliver the Cambridge OCR Sociology A-Level syllabus with dynamic and contemporary content.
- Plan and implement engaging lessons that promote student participation and understanding.
- Support students in EPQ tutoring and provide guidance on academic and career pathways.
- Organise and lead enriching activities such as visits to prisons, forensic CSI days, and guest speaker events.
- Collaborate with other departments and institutions, including Bournemouth University, to enhance student learning.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and discussion.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Criminology or a closely related subject.
- Current or past connection to the UK judicial system in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- Ability to teach an additional subject, such as Psychology or Sociology, alongside Criminology.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Preferred
- Experience with the Cambridge OCR Sociology A-Level syllabus.
- Background in EPQ tutoring or similar enrichment activities.
- Experience working with sixth-form students and in a post-16 teaching environment.
- Familiarity with teacher training or outreach work.
