Curriculum Leader – Creative Arts opportunity at a special school. Lead and manage Creative Arts curriculum.

The Opportunity:

As a Curriculum Leader – Creative Arts, you will lead and manage the curriculum area of Creative Arts, including art, design & technology, food technology, and PE. This is a pivotal role in shaping a dynamic and impactful learning experience for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the Creative Arts curriculum across key stages.
  • Lead a team of teachers and support staff in delivering high-quality creative learning.
  • Ensure that the curriculum supports the development of cultural capital and prepares students for adulthood.
  • Collaborate with other curriculum leaders to align teaching and learning strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide professional development and support to staff within the Creative Arts team.
  • Work closely with students to inspire creativity, confidence and engagement in the arts.
  • Maintain strong relationships with parents, carers and external partners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Creative Arts.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading curriculum development or innovation.
  • Experience with teaching students with ASD or learning difficulties.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated learning.
  • Experience in developing and delivering accredited courses.
