The Opportunity:
As a Curriculum Leader - Media and Film, you will lead and inspire a team of educators, shaping the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the subject area. This role is ideal for someone passionate about innovation, student success, and curriculum development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the creation of engaging and inspiring teaching and learning materials across the Curriculum Area.
- Ensure all subject-related documentation is high quality, up to date, and fit for purpose.
- Lead and promote innovative teaching and assessment practices across the Curriculum Area.
- Implement and manage regular assessments, marking, and moderation in line with college guidelines.
- Track and monitor student progress through a centralised system, ensuring effective outcomes.
- Analyse in-year results data and work with staff to improve performance where needed.
- Manage and supervise line reports in accordance with college policies and procedures.
- Support the selection, appointment, and induction of new staff, including Early Career Teachers.
- Timetable subjects effectively, ensuring efficient deployment of staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies across the Curriculum Area.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree-level qualification.
- A teaching qualification relevant to post-16 education, or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience in teaching within the adult education sector.
- Ability to analyse data and use insights to improve outcomes.
- Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- IT and administrative proficiency.
- Understanding of internal and external assessment processes.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a curriculum area or similar role.
- Experience in managing and developing teaching staff.
- Familiarity with international education standards and practices.
- Experience in delivering A Level or equivalent qualifications.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £51,016 - £53,633 per annum.
