As a Curriculum Leader of Humanities, you will lead and inspire a high-achieving department that delivers first-class teaching and learning experiences. You will drive innovation and ensure the delivery of high-quality curricular and extra-curricular activities that support student success and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Humanities department that delivers outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Implement and monitor innovative teaching strategies to enhance student achievement and engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum across all key stages.
  • Support and mentor staff within the department to foster professional growth and development.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities that enrich student learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring continuous improvement in academic outcomes.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school’s strategic vision.
  • Ensure compliance with curriculum requirements and national standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Good honours degree in a directly related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • In-depth knowledge of current curriculum developments and their implications.
  • Strong leadership and management experience within an educational setting.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and developing a department or team.
  • Experience with curriculum innovation and student-centered learning approaches.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic and pastoral support in an educational context.
  • Experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged students.
