The Opportunity:
The Dean of Students - Middle and High School plays a pivotal role in shaping a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for students. This leader will drive student well-being, engagement, and academic success, while promoting a culture of respect and responsibility. The role is key to ensuring students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership to support student well-being, engagement, and academic success.
- Manage daily disciplinary issues and implement restorative practices aligned with school philosophy.
- Analyze and communicate behavioral and attendance data to inform interventions and support.
- Develop and implement behavior management strategies and student support interventions.
- Facilitate grade-level student support meetings and collaborate with teachers, parents, and students.
- Support divisional leadership, including professional development, teacher evaluations, and school operations.
- Supervise and support student-led initiatives, councils, and school events.
- Engage with parents through workshops, open houses, and three-way conferences.
- Champion school philosophy and policies among students, staff, and parents.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
- Current teaching license or qualified teaching status.
- Minimum five years of full-time international teaching experience.
- Experience in Middle School and/or High School pastoral care.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate and foster a positive school culture.
Preferred
- Experience with school information systems and AI tools in education.
- Familiarity with Common Core curriculum standards.
- Experience with student leadership programs and events.
- Background in supporting student mental health and well-being.
