Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a strategic vision for sport and physical wellbeing.
  • Support the Director of Sport and Physical Wellbeing in managing a large team of Games and PE staff and coaches.
  • Deliver high-quality PE and Games lessons across junior and senior school levels.
  • Oversee a high-performance sporting programme to maximise pupil athlete potential.
  • Promote inclusivity and belonging in all sporting activities.
  • Coordinate non-core sports and manage before and after school commitments.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, safety, and wellbeing standards in all sporting activities.
  • Foster a culture of professional development and support for staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching and coaching at a senior level.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Commitment to sporting excellence and student development.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and compliance in school sports.
  • Ability to manage a demanding schedule, including Saturday fixtures and after-school commitments.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic sports programmes.
  • Background in co-educational sports provision.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student wellbeing.
  • Strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in sports.
  • Experience in leading professional development initiatives for staff.
