Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development of the English curriculum to ensure it meets the highest standards.
  • Work closely with the English Curriculum Leader to implement effective teaching strategies and practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning across the English department.
  • Provide professional development and guidance to English teachers to enhance their practice.
  • Collaborate with other curriculum leaders to ensure consistency and alignment across the school.
  • Support the school’s commitment to student progress and attainment.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and initiatives that promote excellence in English education.
  • Engage in regular data analysis to inform curriculum decisions and improvements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in English education.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum leadership or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with the Trinity MAT and its professional development initiatives.
  • Experience in working with cross-phase or multi-academy trusts.
  • Strong track record in improving student outcomes in English.
