The Opportunity:

As the Deputy Head (Academic), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction of the senior school. You will lead teaching and learning, work closely with department heads, and ensure the delivery of high standards in curriculum and examination results. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the Teaching and Learning strategy across the senior school.
  • Work closely with Heads of Department to ensure academic excellence and curriculum development.
  • Monitor and report on public examination results, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of staff, students, and parents through strong relationships and communication.
  • Inspire and motivate staff to deliver innovative and high-quality education.
  • Ensure alignment with the school’s educational vision and curriculum model.
  • Manage academic projects and initiatives from planning through to completion.
  • Maintain a high level of organisational and administrative efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree with post-graduate leadership qualification preferred.
  • Proven experience in academic leadership and a track record of academic success.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire staff, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to achieving the highest educational standards.
  • High level of organisational and administrative skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in British curriculum schools or international education.
  • Familiarity with both IGCSE and A-Level examinations.
  • Experience in bilingual education settings.
  • Strong understanding of the Chinese education system and Gaokao requirements.
  • Experience in developing and implementing co-curricular programs.
