The Opportunity:

As Deputy Head of Academics, you will play a key role in shaping the academic direction of a school and driving innovation in teaching and learning. This is a leadership position that requires strategic thinking, a passion for education, and a commitment to inspiring both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the academic curriculum across all key stages.
  • Support and mentor teaching staff to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Work closely with the Head of School to implement strategic academic goals.
  • Champion inclusive education and ensure all students have access to quality learning experiences.
  • Monitor and evaluate academic performance to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with external partners and stakeholders to enhance academic programs.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous professional development.
  • Oversee the implementation of new educational initiatives, including the IB Middle Years Programme.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in academic leadership within a school setting.
  • Strong track record in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive and values-driven education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in a co-educational school environment.
  • Familiarity with the IB Diploma and other international qualifications.
  • Experience in leading academic strategy and change management.
  • Knowledge of Information Literacy and digital learning strategies.
