The Opportunity:

As the Deputy Head of Academics, you will play a key role in shaping the academic direction of the school. You will work closely with the Headmaster and lead the academic strategy, ensuring a high-quality educational experience for all students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the academic strategy in collaboration with the Headmaster and Executive Team.
  • Oversee curriculum development, teaching standards, and assessment practices across all year groups.
  • Support and develop staff through professional learning, performance management, and career progression.
  • Foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Headmaster to ensure alignment with the school’s strategic vision and values.
  • Promote a strong academic ethos that supports the school’s mission and enhances student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the school’s boarding and co-curricular programs.
  • Represent the school at external events and engage with parents and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school or educational institution.
  • Strong track record in academic leadership and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK education systems and curricula, including A-Levels and the International Baccalaureate.

Preferred

  • Experience in a boarding school environment.
  • Leadership experience in a co-curricular or pastoral context.
  • Experience in managing large teams and complex academic programs.
  • Familiarity with international education standards and best practices.
