The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Head of Construction, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team, driving the delivery of high-quality construction education and apprenticeship programs. This is a key leadership role with a strong impact on student outcomes and industry partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Head of Faculty in shaping the strategic direction of the construction department
  • Ensure the delivery of outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment across all construction programs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry partners to enhance curriculum relevance and student opportunities
  • Support and challenge the teaching team to achieve continuous improvement in teaching quality and student achievement
  • Collaborate with the Faculty Coordinator to manage teaching cover and provide professional support
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of 16-19 and apprenticeship programs
  • Stay actively involved in teaching to maintain a deep understanding of student experiences and needs
  • Promote the school’s industry-leading reputation through leadership and innovation

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in construction education and leadership roles
  • Strong track record in teaching, learning, and assessment
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to delegate effectively while remaining hands-on
  • Passion for education and student success
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery
  • Knowledge of industry trends and partnerships
  • Experience with apprenticeship programs
  • Leadership experience in a large educational institution
  • Familiarity with the Construction Technical Excellence College (CTEC) initiative
