The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the English department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Support the Head of School in the strategic leadership and management of the school.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of English staff and students.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Work closely with colleagues across the trust to enhance curriculum delivery.
- Ensure that safeguarding and child protection policies are upheld and embedded in all aspects of the role.
- Contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives and strategies.
- Represent the school in external meetings and events as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in a senior leadership role within a school.
- Proven leadership and management experience in a school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in English.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar structure.
- Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
Preferred
- Experience in a Deputy Head or Head of Department role.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
