Summary:

Deputy Head of Pastoral to join a growing British international school in Riyadh.

The Opportunity:

As the Deputy Head of Pastoral, you will be responsible for ensuring the welfare, care, and guidance of pupils across the school. This role is central to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and secure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the school’s house system to enhance student engagement and community spirit.
  • Oversee pupil attendance and implement intervention strategies to support student success.
  • Provide strategic leadership in pastoral care, ensuring consistency and high standards across the school.
  • Support the Principal in shaping the school’s vision and implementing it through the School Evaluation Framework (SEF) and School Improvement Plan (SIP).
  • Promote excellence through quality assurance and professional development of the pastoral team.
  • Model the school’s values and ethos, ensuring alignment with cultural expectations and safeguarding standards.
  • Play an active role in co-curricular activities, including the House system and school events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree /PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification /Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Proven leadership experience as a Head, Deputy Head, or Head of Department.
  • Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum.
  • Strong pastoral and management skills with a proven ability to lead and inspire.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with staff, parents, and pupils.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading change or innovation that has improved pupil outcomes.
  • Understanding of UK independent and international school expectations.
