The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Head of Provision (Primary), you will lead and support a specialist educational provision focused on social and emotional wellbeing for primary-aged children. This role is central to delivering a trauma-informed, personalized curriculum that empowers students to thrive. You will play a key part in shaping a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of high-quality, specialist educational provision for Key Stage 1 and 2 students with social and emotional wellbeing needs.
  • Enable children to make demonstrable progress in their social and emotional development and learning, building on their individual strengths.
  • Develop and model positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents in line with the school’s values.
  • Ensure all safeguarding and child protection matters are handled in accordance with policies and statutory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to maintain strong partnership working and support regular reviews.
  • Contribute to outreach initiatives within local schools, sharing best practice and supporting staff development.
  • Participate in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of student progress and interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • NVQ Level 3 in learning support or behaviour support, or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team to support children, families, and carers.
  • Experience in assessing student progress and recommending appropriate support strategies.
  • Strong ability to build respectful and trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in trauma-informed practice or working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Experience in educational leadership or senior support roles.
  • Familiarity with curriculum design and individualized learning plans.
