The Opportunity:

The Deputy Head of School plays a vital role in shaping the strategic direction and spiritual leadership of a school dedicated to cultivating godly, globally minded learners. This position supports the Head of School in driving the school’s mission and ensuring the integration of Christian values into all aspects of education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputize for the Head of School and act as Acting Head when required.
  • Provide godly spiritual leadership and promote the Special Character of the school.
  • Support the development and implementation of school-wide strategic plans.
  • Oversee performance management and professional development for teaching and support staff.
  • Foster strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.
  • Ensure effective communication between senior leadership and the school community.
  • Manage school budgets and assets in accordance with delegated authority.
  • Support the Counselling Team and Learning Support services.
  • Lead teacher induction and professional development programs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of school facilities and standards of behaviour.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Demonstrated experience in Christian leadership and education administration.
  • Strong understanding of international education and curriculum standards.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams effectively.
  • Experience in school governance and policy development.
  • Commitment to the spiritual mission and values of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading school improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Alberta and IB curriculum frameworks.
  • Background in pastoral care or student support services.
  • Experience in school admissions and branding strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
