The Opportunity:

As Deputy Head of Secondary Curriculum, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction of the school. You will lead the development and delivery of the curriculum, ensuring that students receive a high-quality, globally relevant education. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on student learning and school performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the development and implementation of the secondary curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning to ensure high standards and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and support Heads of Department in tracking student progress and achievement.
  • Develop systems and processes to improve departmental performance and student outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of learning and professional development among staff.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from Year 6 to Year 7, working closely with students, parents, and teachers.
  • Stay up to date with current curriculum developments and educational research.
  • Promote and maintain the school’s Guiding Statements and Values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in curriculum leadership within a secondary school setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to use achievement data to monitor and improve student outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of the British National Curriculum and international qualifications such as IGCSE, A Levels, and IB.
  • Experience in leading and supporting staff development and professional growth.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and colleagues.
  • Commitment to student well-being and putting learners first.

Preferred

  • Experience in international schools or schools with a diverse student population.
  • Familiarity with educational technologies and innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience in managing and leading large teams within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of educational research and its application in curriculum development.
  • Experience in developing and managing transition programs between key stages.
