The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Head Teacher, you will support the Head Teacher in strategic leadership and play a key role in developing staff and maintaining high standards for all children. You will help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment while building strong community links.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Teacher in the strategic leadership and management of the school.
  • Coach and develop staff to enhance teaching and learning across the school.
  • Model and demonstrate effective teaching practices in the classroom.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on standards of attainment and teaching quality.
  • Foster strong relationships with parents, the local community, and external partners.
  • Lead initiatives that promote inclusivity, equality, and student success.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and strategies.
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Significant experience of leadership in urban primary schools.
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • Strong classroom practice and a deep understanding of effective teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication skills with parents, colleagues, and the wider community.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating teaching and learning standards.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading school improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with special educational needs and inclusion strategies.
  • Experience in working with diverse communities and supporting children from a range of backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of educational research and innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of educators.
