The Opportunity:
As Deputy Headteacher with an English specialism, you will take on a leadership role while also contributing to teaching. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the school on a day-to-day basis, ensuring smooth operations and alignment with the school’s vision and values.
- Deliver high-quality teaching in English up to GCSE level, demonstrating subject expertise and passion.
- Implement and model effective behaviour management strategies aligned with the school’s behaviour policy.
- Contribute to the self-evaluation process and support the strategic development of the school.
- Work collaboratively with staff, students, and families to create an inclusive and emotionally literate environment.
- Develop and deliver a creative and academically engaging curriculum tailored to individual student needs.
- Support students who have experienced adverse childhood experiences with empathy and professionalism.
- Manage challenging behaviours and lead crisis-management interventions when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant education qualifications such as QTS, a teaching degree, or a degree and PGCE.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and leadership within education.
- Strong communication and emotional intelligence skills.
- Ability to teach English to GCSE level.
- Experience working with students with SEMH difficulties.
- Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours and implement effective behaviour policies.
Preferred
- Experience in crisis management or working in emotionally literate environments.
- Background in developing and delivering individualised curricula.
- Experience in school leadership or senior management roles.
