The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Headteacher to join a successful senior leadership team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on student achievement and school improvement, while supporting a culture of excellence and kindness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a range of academic and pastoral departments to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Support the Headteacher in the strategic development and implementation of the school’s vision and mission.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff and students, providing guidance and support where needed.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture, ensuring the wellbeing of all students and staff.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and deliver effective policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the management of resources and budgets to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Represent the school at external meetings and events, promoting its values and achievements.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to drive continuous improvement across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to the school’s vision of “the best for our students, the best from our students.”
  • A relevant teaching qualification and experience in education leadership.

Preferred

  • Experience in a grammar school or selective school environment.
  • Experience in leading curriculum development and academic improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of school improvement strategies and Ofsted inspection processes.
  • Experience in managing large teams and complex projects.
