Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage specific areas of school development, contributing to the overall strategic direction.
  • Support the headteacher in the effective management of the school’s academic, pastoral, and operational priorities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture aligned with the Catholic values of the institution.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders and staff to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff and students, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Represent the school in meetings, events, and external communications.
  • Develop and implement policies that support the school’s mission and vision.
  • Promote staff wellbeing and professional development across the school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, ideally in a senior role such as Deputy Headteacher or Head of Department.
  • Strong knowledge of school operations, including curriculum development, staff management, and pastoral care.
  • Experience working in a Catholic school or similar faith-based environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • A commitment to the values and ethos of the school, including a focus on student and staff wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience in strategic planning and school improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school inspection processes.
  • Experience with leading whole-school development projects or initiatives.
  • Strong track record in achieving high academic outcomes and student engagement.
