The Opportunity:
As a Deputy Manager - Alternative Provision, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of teaching and learning across the school. This position offers the opportunity to lead, manage, and support staff while driving student progress and achievement through effective monitoring, assessment, and exam management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop effective working relationships with all staff and lead weekly and 1-to-1 meetings with Subject Coordinators.
- Monitor and evaluate learning, achievement, and attainment throughout the provision.
- Administer and oversee baseline data, EKOS Subject CSRFs, and exam entries.
- Lead on exam management and preparations, including constructing a timetable for mock exams.
- Support the development of collaborative approaches to learning and ensure staff share the aims of the provision.
- Ensure all examination forms, including Form 9s and AAOs, are completed and up to date.
- Monitor the delivery of systematic teaching of basic skills and life skills.
- Provide in-lesson support and mentorship to staff through demonstration, team teaching, and feedback.
- Prepare and present reports to the Outreach Manager and ensure all centres are prepared for inspections.
- Ensure that subject curriculums, schemes of work, and resources are in place and regularly scrutinized.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent
- At least three years' experience as a senior leader
- Previous experience with exam management
- Previous work with children and young people with SEND
Preferred
- SENCO qualification
- NPQSL / NPQML
