The Opportunity:
As a Deputy Maths Coordinator, you will play a key role in driving excellence in maths teaching and learning across the academy. This is an exciting opportunity to lead curriculum development, support staff growth, and ensure outstanding outcomes for students at all key stages. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the development of maths curriculum and teaching practices across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
- Inspire and motivate staff and students, maintaining the highest standards in teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to build a strong, collaborative team ethos and support departmental leadership.
- Drive attainment in maths, raising the profile of the subject and its extra-curricular opportunities.
- Ensure regular assessment of pupil progress and implement strategies to improve outcomes.
- Deliver high-quality lessons with excellent classroom management and engagement.
- Support the strategic development of the maths department and its future direction.
- Work closely with senior leaders and colleagues to enhance the overall maths offering in the academy.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a maths teacher, with the ability to teach across all key stages.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
- Experience in curriculum development and departmental leadership.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Experience in middle leadership or a desire to progress into a leadership role.
- Knowledge of maths curriculum frameworks and assessment strategies.
- Experience with CPD and teacher training initiatives.
- Familiarity with the Aspirations Academies Trust and its values.
- Passion for maths education and student progression.
