The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you will support the Nursery Manager in delivering high-quality early years education to children aged 6 months to 4 years. You will be instrumental in creating a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment that promotes the holistic development of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Nursery Manager with the daily running of the Nursery
  • Ensuring a safe, caring, and stimulating educational environment is maintained
  • Supervising and developing Nursery staff to enhance team performance
  • Assisting with staff training, appraisals, and mentoring to support professional growth
  • Promoting the EYFS framework and ensuring compliance with early years regulations
  • Collaborating with the Nursery Manager to plan and implement engaging activities for children
  • Building positive relationships with parents and maintaining open lines of communication
  • Managing day-to-day administrative tasks to support smooth operations

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Childcare qualification
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and regulations
  • Experience in managing and supporting a team in an early years setting
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or deputy management role within early years education
  • Confidence in leading, supporting, and inspiring a team
  • Strong decision-making, delegation, and planning skills
  • Experience with staff appraisals and mentoring
