As a Deputy SENDCO, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. You will lead the delivery of high-quality interventions and work to improve educational and life outcomes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and deliver 1:1 and small-group intervention sessions tailored to the needs of SEND pupils.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve academic and life outcomes for students with special educational needs.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and carers to ensure consistent and effective support for SEND students.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions to ensure continuous improvement in provision.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to support the holistic development of students.
  • Contribute to the development of best practice across the school’s SEND provision.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on SEND-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a specialist SEND role or a similar area.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, carers, and staff.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and a passion for supporting students to reach their full potential.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions.
  • Knowledge of current SEND policies and best practices.
  • Experience in driving improvements in educational outcomes for SEND students.
  • Familiarity with assessment and monitoring tools for SEND pupils.
