The Opportunity:

A Design and Technology/Art Technician is needed to support the delivery of practical learning experiences across a range of material areas. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education and eager to contribute to a dynamic and supportive teaching team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and maintain practical resources and facilities for Design and Technology and Art.
  • Provide technical support to staff and students during lessons and practical activities.
  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of teaching materials and equipment.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient use of all resources and facilities.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance the learning experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of resource usage and maintenance needs.
  • Support the development and implementation of new practical learning initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all areas of responsibility.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a similar technical support role within an educational setting.
  • Ability to manage and maintain a range of practical resources and equipment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in Design and Technology or Art education.
  • Knowledge of current teaching practices and curriculum requirements.
  • Experience with the use of ICT and digital resources in education.
  • Previous experience in a school environment.
