The Opportunity:
As a Design and Technology Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing instructional practice and student learning through innovation and technology. You will collaborate with teachers to integrate design thinking, digital literacy, and technology into the curriculum, supporting a culture of creativity and problem-solving across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with teachers to co-plan and co-teach lessons that integrate design thinking and technology into the curriculum
- Support professional learning communities and provide ongoing coaching and just-in-time support to teachers
- Design and facilitate maker challenges, robotics activities, and innovation projects aligned with curriculum goals
- Lead and sustain a culture of maker-centered learning and design thinking across the school
- Coordinate and oversee the safe and effective use of maker space resources and technology tools
- Collaborate with teams to measure and enhance the impact of innovation and technology on student learning
- Manage and support the use of technology systems and platforms such as Seesaw, PowerSchool, and iPads
- Organize and facilitate parent workshops focused on innovation, digital citizenship, and school initiatives
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Demonstrated expertise in design thinking, digital literacy, and technology integration
- Experience in education, with a focus on innovation and student-centered learning
- Strong ability to collaborate with teachers and support professional development
- Commitment to the school’s values of care, respect, and integrity
- Proficiency in using technology tools and platforms commonly used in education
Preferred
- Experience with ISTE Standards and digital citizenship education
- Background in leading or facilitating maker spaces or innovation programs
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience working in a multicultural, international school environment
