Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Design and Technology department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and deliver a dynamic and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve departmental performance.
- Support the school’s Catholic mission and values through teaching and pastoral care.
- Promote student achievement and ensure the department continues to deliver excellent outcomes.
- Manage resources and equipment effectively to support teaching and learning.
- Participate in staff development and professional learning opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Design and Technology.
- Proven leadership experience in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of current Design and Technology qualifications and curriculum.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos and values.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and leading a successful department.
- Experience with GCSE and BTEC qualifications in Design and Technology.
- Experience in pastoral care and student support.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
