The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Design and Technology Subject Leader to lead a successful and well-resourced department. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the school’s high standards and Catholic ethos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Design and Technology department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and deliver a dynamic and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve departmental performance.
  • Support the school’s Catholic mission and values through teaching and pastoral care.
  • Promote student achievement and ensure the department continues to deliver excellent outcomes.
  • Manage resources and equipment effectively to support teaching and learning.
  • Participate in staff development and professional learning opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Design and Technology.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of current Design and Technology qualifications and curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos and values.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading a successful department.
  • Experience with GCSE and BTEC qualifications in Design and Technology.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
