Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons that promote creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with national standards and encourages student engagement.
  • Manage and maintain a safe, stimulating, and well-organized workshop environment.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized learning and assessment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share best practices.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and events that promote the school’s values and mission.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in Design and Technology.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement in learning outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching Design and Technology at a secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Preferred

  • Experience in using modern technology and design software.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities or STEM-related initiatives.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
