The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Design and Technology Teacher to help establish a world-class DTE programme at a high-performing senior school. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of DTE education in a progressive and innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching Design, Technology and Engineering to a 25% timetable allocation, with potential for expansion
- Collaborating with the Deputy Head (Academic) to develop and implement a comprehensive DTE curriculum
- Planning, preparing and delivering high-quality lessons, including provision for students with additional needs
- Promoting the study of DTE across the school and fostering student engagement
- Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to super-curricular activities
- Engaging in lesson observations and work scrutinies to ensure quality teaching
- Liaising with senior leadership and external partners to support community engagement
- Supporting students through pastoral and extra-curricular activities where appropriate
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- PGCE, QTS or equivalent with strong academic credentials and a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
- Experience delivering outstanding DTE provision in a high-performing school
- Ability to teach DTE to A Level
- Ability to teach Computer Science
Preferred
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative DTE programmes
- Experience in working with students with additional needs
- Experience in pastoral or extra-curricular leadership roles
