Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons using a range of teaching strategies and resources.
  • Implement Assessment for Learning (AfL) techniques to improve student performance and achievement.
  • Use student data effectively to identify areas for development and raise standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and support departmental goals.
  • Maintain high expectations for student behavior and academic performance.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Support the delivery of Key Stage 3 and 4 qualifications in Design and Technology and Hospitality and Catering.
  • Utilize modern teaching tools and technology to enhance learning and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in an appropriate subject area (Food or Resistant Materials).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching experience.
  • Experience in assessment at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Proficiency in using standard computer packages for teaching and administrative tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering vocational and academic qualifications in Design and Technology.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.
  • A passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of learning.
