The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high-quality lessons in Design and Technology that align with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Foster a creative and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and innovation.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in Design and Technology education.
  • Support the personal and academic development of students through pastoral care and mentorship.
  • Participate in school events, professional development, and staff meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student achievement and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design and Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of the subject area and current teaching methodologies.
  • Experience working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading extracurricular activities in Design and Technology.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools used in the field.
  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on innovation and student development.
  • Previous experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
