The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Design and Technology across all key stages.
  • Support the development and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring it is up-to-date and aligned with the school’s vision.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental planning and development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the school’s continuous professional development programme and contribute to staff training and development.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student learning and achievement.
  • Uphold the school’s values, including safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design and Technology.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Experience in working within a school environment that values high standards and continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities where required.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering cross-curricular projects or integrating technology into teaching.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or working in diverse student populations.
  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard design and technology tools and software.
