The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Design and Technology Technician to join a dynamic department and support the delivery of high-quality education. This role involves preparing lessons, managing resources, and maintaining equipment to ensure a smooth learning experience for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organise lessons in line with departmental requirements
- Maintain and manage all equipment and resources used in the Design and Technology department
- Support the teaching team with administrative and technical tasks
- Ensure a safe and well-ordered learning environment for students
- Assist with the planning and delivery of practical lessons
- Keep accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance
- Collaborate with other staff to enhance the learning experience
- Provide support during extracurricular and enrichment activities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a similar technical or support role within an educational setting
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with design and technology equipment and materials
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Preferred
- Experience in a school or college environment
- Knowledge of CAD or other design software
- Previous experience in lesson preparation or resource management
- Understanding of curriculum standards and educational best practices
