The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and creative Design Engineering Teacher to join our dynamic department and support the development of students across all key stages. The role involves teaching A Level and GCSE Product Design, as well as contributing to the school’s co-curricular programme. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teacher to make a meaningful impact in a progressive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Design Engineering to students across all key stages, including A Level and GCSE Product Design.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that inspire student enthusiasm and foster a deep understanding of the subject.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s Design Engineering Co-Curricular programme.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice, resources, and teaching strategies.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through individualised guidance and pastoral care.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and community events.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Design Engineering and incorporate new ideas into teaching.
  • Maintain high standards of organisation, planning, and record-keeping.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in Design Engineering, Design Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience teaching A Level and GCSE Product Design.
  • Strong organisational skills and a high level of personal responsibility.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting, either as a teacher or in a related role.
  • A passion for design and engineering with a creative approach to teaching.
  • Experience in developing and leading co-curricular activities.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and technologies in design engineering.
