The Opportunity:

A Design Technology Teacher (Fixed Term) is needed to inspire and educate students in a dynamic, state-of-the-art learning environment. This role plays a key part in shaping the next generation of creative thinkers and problem solvers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons aligned with the school’s rigorous curriculum.
  • Foster a creative and inclusive classroom environment that encourages innovation and critical thinking.
  • Support students in developing practical skills and knowledge across a range of Design Technology disciplines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and share best approaches.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning space with up-to-date resources and equipment.
  • Engage with students and parents to support learning and promote the value of Design Technology.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant Design Technology experience.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design Technology, including food technology.
  • Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet curriculum standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience with Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the wider school community.
