The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Design Technology Teacher to join our thriving department. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on students’ learning and development, while working within a supportive and collaborative team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality education in a school recognized for its strong sense of community and outstanding outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons to students at Key Stage 3 and 4, including Resistant Materials, Textiles, and Food.
  • Develop and maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote student progress and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the continued success of the Design & Technology department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in Design & Technology education.
  • Support students in developing practical skills and a deep understanding of the subject.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Design & Technology.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology, with the ability to teach Resistant Materials as an advantage.
  • Experience working with students at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to providing a high-quality, inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Electronics or other related disciplines.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience in a school with a strong sense of community and high standards.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of the Design & Technology curriculum.
