The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join our department on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and development, while working in a school that values innovation and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, inspiring lessons across all key stages (KS3-4), with a focus on Resistant Materials and Product Design at KS4.
  • Support students of all abilities, ensuring they achieve their full potential through engaging and challenging teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s 3-year Entitlement Curriculum at KS3.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices across the department.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and staff development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.
  • Promote the school’s Catholic values and ethos in all aspects of teaching and learning.
  • Encourage student participation in extra-curricular activities and school events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Design Technology.
  • Experience teaching Design Technology to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Ability to deliver lessons that are engaging, inclusive, and meet the needs of all learners.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos and values.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Resistant Materials and Product Design at KS4.
  • Experience of working in a school with a strong Catholic ethos.
  • Experience of delivering innovative and creative lessons.
  • Experience of working with students with additional needs.
