Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across key stages, with a specialism in product design, graphics, textiles, or food.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their best, fostering a love of learning and creativity.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress effectively.
  • Create an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular links and enrichment opportunities.
  • Take a proactive approach to professional development and share best practice with the team.
  • Play an active role in extra-curricular clubs, competitions, and school events related to Design Technology.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting its ethos and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree or equivalent experience with a teaching qualification.
  • Proven ability to teach outstanding lessons across the 11-18 range with strong classroom management skills.
  • Experience or specialism in one or more of: product design, graphics, textiles, or food.
  • Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills.
  • A firm understanding of key national and educational policies and issues.
  • The ability to inspire high achievement in young people from all backgrounds.

Preferred

  • Experience with cross-curricular collaboration and enrichment opportunities.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to professional development initiatives.
  • Experience with extra-curricular activities or competitions in Design Technology.
