The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Develop engaging and innovative curriculum content that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Support students in achieving excellent GCSE and A Level results through effective teaching and assessment strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the overall quality of teaching and learning in the department.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students, contributing to their personal and academic development.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in Design Technology to ensure a relevant and forward-thinking curriculum.
  • Participate in the school’s extracurricular activities and support students in developing their skills beyond the classroom.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through staff meetings, professional development, and other school initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design Technology.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver curriculum content effectively.
  • Experience of teaching at both GCSE and A Level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience of working with students with special educational needs.
  • Involvement in extracurricular or enrichment activities related to Design Technology.
  • Experience of using industry-standard software and tools in teaching.
  • A track record of achieving high student outcomes and engagement.
