The Opportunity:

Join a vibrant and well-resourced Design Technology Department as a Teacher with a Food Technology specialism. This role offers the chance to inspire students through hands-on learning, fostering creativity and practical skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition
  • Inspire students to think critically about food, nutrition, sustainability, and culture
  • Foster creativity, independence, and confidence in practical learning environments
  • Contribute to a collaborative department that values innovation and professional development
  • Support students with SEND and ensure inclusive teaching practices
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to raise achievement across all abilities
  • Promote effective teaching strategies and continuous improvement in learning outcomes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Passion for Food Technology and its impact on student learning
  • Strong subject knowledge and commitment to excellent teaching and learning
  • Ability to consistently deliver inspirational learning experiences
  • Understanding of inclusive teaching and learning strategies
  • Evidence of success in raising student achievement through assessment and evaluation
  • Strong communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Commitment to Continuing Professional Development

Preferred

  • Experience teaching GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Background in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting
  • Experience with innovative teaching technologies and practical resources
