The Opportunity:
Join a vibrant and well-resourced Design Technology Department as a Teacher with a Food Technology specialism. This role offers the chance to inspire students through hands-on learning, fostering creativity and practical skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition
- Inspire students to think critically about food, nutrition, sustainability, and culture
- Foster creativity, independence, and confidence in practical learning environments
- Contribute to a collaborative department that values innovation and professional development
- Support students with SEND and ensure inclusive teaching practices
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to raise achievement across all abilities
- Promote effective teaching strategies and continuous improvement in learning outcomes
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Passion for Food Technology and its impact on student learning
- Strong subject knowledge and commitment to excellent teaching and learning
- Ability to consistently deliver inspirational learning experiences
- Understanding of inclusive teaching and learning strategies
- Evidence of success in raising student achievement through assessment and evaluation
- Strong communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents
- Commitment to Continuing Professional Development
Preferred
- Experience teaching GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
- Background in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting
- Experience with innovative teaching technologies and practical resources
