The Opportunity: As a Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to create a secure and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with statutory and non-statutory agencies, parents, and staff on safeguarding matters.
- Provide expert support, advice, and guidance on child protection and wellbeing.
- Monitor and report on safeguarding issues within the school.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to implement and review safeguarding policies.
- Support the development of a culture of safety and trust across the school community.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to child protection.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Designated Safeguarding Lead role.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Comprehensive portfolio of CPD related to Safeguarding and Child Protection.
- Outstanding interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
- A genuinely empathetic approach to working with children and families.
Preferred
- Experience with safeguarding frameworks and child protection procedures.
- Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) support.
- Experience working in a school setting with a focus on emotional and behavioral support.
