The Opportunity:

As a Development Officer, you will play a key role in generating fundraising income and building an engaged alumnae community to increase philanthropic support, particularly for bursaries. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of the school and its students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement regular giving campaigns to grow donor engagement and support.
  • Build and maintain relationships with alumnae, parents, and friends of the school to increase philanthropy and legacy bequests.
  • Conduct prospect research and manage the alumnae database to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Enhance the alumnae community through social media and website content management.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Development and Alumnae Relations to achieve fundraising targets and strategic goals.
  • Support the development of the alumnae association and promote its activities to a wider audience.
  • Ensure all communication is professional, engaging, and aligned with the school's mission and values.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in fundraising or alumnae/alumni relations, preferably in an educational or charitable setting.
  • Experience in maintaining and updating a fundraising or alumni database.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in website content management systems and social media platforms.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and managing regular giving programs.
  • Background in legacy fundraising or bequest management.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and donor management software.
  • Knowledge of educational fundraising strategies and best practices.
  • Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment.
