The Opportunity:

As Director of Film and Television Production, you will lead the development of an innovative, industry-aligned curriculum and oversee student productions that mirror real-world practice. This is a hands-on leadership role that shapes the future of creative education and empowers young talent to thrive in film and television.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of a project-based, industry-relevant curriculum that develops technical, creative, and professional skills.
  • Oversee student productions from concept to final delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes and real-world application.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners to create internships, mentorships, and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote student work through public platforms, screenings, and festivals, enhancing the school’s reputation in the creative sector.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and equipment for the Film and Television department with efficiency and sustainability.
  • Support teaching staff through mentorship, professional development, and leadership opportunities.
  • Embed diversity and inclusion into the curriculum, reflecting the school’s mission of equity and representation.
  • Ensure robust assessment, feedback, and tracking of student progress and outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in film or television production and project-based creative education.
  • Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher and curriculum designer.
  • Strong experience in managing student projects and delivering industry-aligned learning opportunities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
  • Passion for creative education, inclusion, and widening access to the creative industries.

Preferred

  • Leadership experience in creative education or departmental management.
  • Experience managing budgets and departmental operations.
  • Strong industry connections within film, television, or creative sectors.
  • Experience in delivering public-facing showcases, screenings, or student projects.
