The Opportunity:

As the Director of Future Schools, you will lead the development and delivery of enterprise and employability programmes that prepare students for success in employment, self-employment, or enterprise. This role is ideal for a visionary leader who is passionate about innovation, entrepreneurship, and real-world learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate dynamic enterprise and employability programmes aligned with the school’s strategic vision.
  • Lead flagship initiatives such as Enterprise & Employability Week, Student Careers Fair, and Future School Work Experience.
  • Embed entrepreneurial learning across the curriculum, enrichment, and co-curricular activities.
  • Line manage the Careers Lead to ensure alignment between career education and enterprise goals.
  • Review and refine programmes annually to ensure continued innovation, relevance, and impact.
  • Provide 1:1 and group mentoring for students exploring start-up ventures or self-employment pathways.
  • Support students in developing key soft skills such as communication, creativity, confidence, and problem-solving.
  • Build meaningful partnerships with entrepreneurs, incubators, universities, and local or international businesses.
  • Create authentic learning opportunities such as visits, panels, projects, and internships.
  • Secure sponsorships to support enterprise initiatives and student projects.
  • Establish an active alumni network to provide mentoring, talks, and work-related experiences.
  • Lead parent engagement through workshops, newsletters, and briefings on enterprise and future skills pathways.
  • Collaborate with SLT and staff to integrate enterprise education across all aspects of school life.
  • Champion The Future School’s vision through events, campaigns, and social media.
  • Celebrate student success stories across internal platforms and wider media.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to showcase innovation and attract external partnerships.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in enterprise education, youth entrepreneurship, or future skills development.
  • Qualification in business, education, or enterprise leadership (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of innovation, mentoring, and start-up culture.
  • Experience working with partners, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of global employment trends and the future of work.
  • Confident communicator and inspiring leader with a proactive, creative, and solutions-focused mindset.
  • Highly organised, collaborative, and passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential.

Preferred

  • Experience in programme leadership and curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing community partnerships.
  • Experience with digital marketing and social media campaigns.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AR and AI in education.
  • Experience in student mentoring and portfolio development.
