Director of GCSE needed to lead and support pupils in Years 9 to 11.

The Opportunity:

As the Director of GCSE, you will be responsible for ensuring that pupils in Years 9 to 11 experience a smooth and positive induction into the Senior School and follow an enriching and well-supported GCSE pathway. This role is pivotal in helping students achieve their full potential through a challenging and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the GCSE curriculum for Years 9 to 11.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support student achievement and progression.
  • Coordinate with teachers and support staff to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to staff involved in GCSE teaching and assessment.
  • Ensure a smooth transition for students from the Preparatory School to the Senior School.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning culture that encourages student engagement and success.
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to align GCSE goals with the school’s overall academic strategy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the GCSE curriculum and assessment processes.
  • Excellent organisational and management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support teaching staff.
  • Commitment to student achievement and academic excellence.
  • Experience in working with students in Years 9 to 11.

Preferred

  • Experience in a large school or multi-academy trust.
  • Background in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support systems.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of extracurricular activities and programmes.
