The Opportunity:

As the Director of Junior School Sport, you will lead and inspire the development of sport and physical activity for junior students. This is a unique opportunity to re-imagine how sport can positively impact young girls and shape their lifelong attitudes toward health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development and delivery of junior school sport programs.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sport to shape the future of sport and exercise across the school.
  • Foster a culture of physical activity and healthy lifestyles among junior students.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that promote inclusivity, participation, and excellence in sport.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to integrate sport and physical education into the broader curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of sport programs on student well-being and performance.
  • Support the development of coaches and staff involved in junior school sport.
  • Ensure alignment with the school’s mission and values in all aspects of sport delivery.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a sports or physical education setting.
  • Strong understanding of junior school sport and its impact on student development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Experience in managing and coordinating sport programs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in girls’ education or working with young girls.
  • Familiarity with the UK school sports system and curriculum.
  • Knowledge of innovative approaches to sport and physical education.
  • Experience in coaching or leading sports teams.
  • Strong understanding of the role of sport in character development and well-being.
