The Opportunity:
The Director of Music will lead and inspire a vibrant and ambitious Music Department, shaping a dynamic and impactful music programme that reflects the school’s commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-quality, inclusive and innovative music programme across all year groups.
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Academic Music to ensure seamless operations and shared goals.
- Foster excellence in both curricular and co-curricular music provision.
- Support and mentor music staff, encouraging professional growth and development.
- Promote a culture of creativity, performance, and musical excellence throughout the school.
- Work with external music organisations and industry professionals to enhance opportunities for students.
- Ensure the music programme aligns with the school’s values and strategic vision.
- Deliver regular reports and evaluations on the performance and impact of the music department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a senior music education role.
- Strong background in music performance, composition, or pedagogy.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver a comprehensive music curriculum.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and the well-being of students.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a large and diverse music department.
- Background in both academic and performing arts music.
- Familiarity with international music education standards.
- Experience with curriculum development and strategic planning.
