Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that engages pupils of all ages and abilities.
- Lead and manage a team of music staff, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality music education.
- Organise and oversee a wide range of music and drama productions throughout the academic year.
- Foster a culture of musical excellence and creativity across the school, encouraging participation and performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate music into the broader educational experience.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of music facilities and resources.
- Promote the school's music programme externally through events, performances, and outreach activities.
- Support the personal and professional development of music staff through training and mentorship.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a music department within a school or educational setting.
- Strong musical background and performance experience.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to the school’s values, including equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and managing music and drama productions.
- Knowledge of music technology and digital resources.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment in music education.
