The Opportunity:

The Director of Pastoral Care and Inclusion will play a vital role in shaping the school’s approach to student support and inclusion. This leadership position is ideal for an experienced and visionary professional looking to make a meaningful impact on student development from Early Years through to Year 6.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the school’s pastoral care strategy and culture.
  • Support students across all ability ranges with tailored guidance and care.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to shape the school’s future direction.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure consistent standards in pastoral care.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the pastoral care team.
  • Work closely with other departments to foster a cohesive and inclusive school environment.
  • Promote a culture of mutual respect, support, and high achievement.
  • Ensure alignment with the school’s mission and values in all pastoral care initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in pastoral care and inclusion.
  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of student development and well-being.
  • Experience in a British curriculum school or international context.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a senior leadership team.

Preferred

  • Experience in school leadership or with a view to future headship.
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum of England and Wales.
  • Experience with teacher training or professional development programmes.
  • Familiarity with international safeguarding standards and child protection policies.
